Trip to Chicago Memorial Day 21010

I had a hard time sleeping last night. Bertlee,me and Edie are on our way to visit James and Olga in Chicago!

I really did try to get to sleep after we dropped Punky off at her mom's house.
Curley was happy to See her Grandpa and Mellissa looked frizzed.
Bertlee did not tell her we where going to
Chicago
Until we where getting ready to leave.
Boy was she surprised! I decided at the last moment that it just would not be the same with out my travel buddy Bertlee. The truth of the matter was I did not have enough money till I booked a wedding for August 21st.
I also have never road on a train and Edie and I would of been just fine, but I probably could not of gotten her to go out to the bar. You can't go to Chicago without checking out the night life. James and Olga just got married in April in the Carribean and plan on a Wedding reception at Dad and Edie's here in July 11th 2010.

James asked me to take there photos and this was the only weekend we could go before the summer slipped into high gear.
Packing for a trip takes me awhile, but I was ready by 1am. The house was so hot that I slept on the couch, until I heard taylor drive in about 2am. He has been sleeping on the couch since his room is on the 3rd floor so before he kicked me out 8 went to my own bed. I was pulled from my dream this morning by my own clock saying get up!

Really,it was a noise outdoors and it was Benny jumping out my bedroom window two stories up. Now at the time I did not know it was him and Butters escaping, but after looking out later there they where bugging the neighbor girl cat. These boys maybe fixed, but they sure do think they should be doing something.
We arrived at the station in East Lansing on time and it was a beautiful Friday morning for a train ride. Bertlee said he had not been on the train for over 20 years and I think it had been 10 or 15 for me. Edie is a ole pro she visits her son James this way all the time. The train was full and we pulled out of the station right on time 8:28am. After settling in bert and I went to the diner car where they have some food and drinks. This car has tables so we stayed for most of the trip right there. It was so nice to be able to catch up on my blog and bert read all about what was happening in chicago this weekend. We arrived in union station 12:15 pm Chicago time and James and Olga met us right at the station. Such a different feel when you step to street side with all the hustle of a busy city like Chicago .

James looks so good and Olga was just as beautiful as her pictures portray . James is one lucky guy! After going to there new loft on the 18th floor and dropping off our bags, James thought we should go for lunch. We walked down to Michigan avenue and strolled down to a restaurant called Chicago firehouse. They made a wonderful restaurant in this old neighborhood firehouse with a patio in the back and a dining experience that makes your feel right at home. We had wine and burgers and me and james had a special for of the day which was just wonderful. James was such a gent and picked up the tab and we where on our way back to see the city. This was the first time I had met Olga so I was happy to hear about there wedding and see there photos that they had. She and James commuted for over a year and a half before she moved to Chicago with him. They just got there place in December and where married in April. This is a really big year for both of them and I was so happy they picked me to take there engagement photos. It will and all ready has meant a lot to me that they had thought of me. I can't wait to explore the city for places that will make them shine and look as beautiful and in love as I can tell they are. I just love showing people the love and passion that I can capture in them. Make my heart overflow.
