Lansing Gay Pride 2010

Getting ready for the summer always kicks into high gear about the second week in June. I am sure that every year I am a little more ahead of the game until the week arrives. After going to Chicago for memorial day and having a wonderful time with James and Olga and Edie and Bertlee, one would think I could jump back into high gear and get the house ready for summer.
Week that is just what I did on Thursday and Friday. Stupid stupid me! My hands still hurt today, because I was on my knees planting and weeding for over 12 hours on thous two days. My mom and Oscar stopped by thursday to drop off the dog cage so I can retrain my girl kitty,

Tabithia on the habits of the litter box. Renne let be borrow her steam cleaner and bam I went to town on the house first thing Friday morning. Some of JR's friends stopped by on Thursday after my parents left and I got aquatinted with some of the nice young men that he is hanging out with.

Now, we know quite a few of them and JR is such a great housemate, his friends have been over many times. Since the pride party is right down in our quaint little north Lansing, It is a great location to live.

My house is just 4 blocks from main street and it was going to be a really fun and busy weekend! Bertlee and I love that there is so much variety of gay family, friends and young men that sometimes it is hard to go down to the festival at all. We always make it out though.

Bertlee got home about 4:20 as usual and I was still just finishing 60 projects off the 100 list.
Taylor arrived home from his first week at liquid web. The timing of the end of the day went bam d bam bam! My friend david stjaques from the cape called and Bertlee made me my first drink as I put the last bag of sand down in the new sand patio. I finally sat down covered head to toe with dirt and sand and sweat. David was on the way to shannon's birthday party and off to Boston for there gay pride fest. Bertlee took a picture of be for prosperity and to laugh at me for getting so stinky and dirty. He's such a smart ass at times.

We will be going out to see David the first week of August and I can not wait! We have not been to see David and P town in 3 years. It is a well deserved time and I really miss David buddy. Bert is in a group that is equality for gays and they where holding a event down at P2 studio so I finially got in the shower to get this gorgeous man ready for the white party.
Taylor yelled though the door that he was off for the weekend and his little sisters open house. Very good thing, because the house would be full of crazy young and mature men that would be having a great gay time!
Bertlee had to hold my arm since I was very tired from all the work in the yard and usually he asked me where is the fire.
P2 was packed with people that we had no clue who any of them where and they seemed to all know each other. The food wax wonderful and the wine was heavenly! Nobody talked to us and really that was ok, we where there for the food and drink since it was free.

Our friends jeff and Scott where going to be at the house at 10:30 ish anyways so we just ate and drank and chatted with Lynn the owner of P2. She had just gotten the new little portable Polaroid printers and she was so nice that she took a photo of me and bert. I just love that Lynn! We thought that with the white flags lining the town and all the people out that gay pride had certainly arrived in our little town of North Lansing.

Tourist in your own town 2010

MSU Museum

www.museum.msu.edu

The bus ride over was quite fun and Ashely, Erich,Bertlee and myself made it over before Renee and Shelia did. We took the triple long cata bus and stood the whole way.

I can say that cata probably has not seen this many people ride the bus since last year. Starting over on beautiful MSU campus was a great idea. I can not remember the last time I had been here. I photograph on campus all the time, but it must have been since I was in 5th grade.

The Rock sidewalk Art
Walking by the "MSU rock" Jesus said Hey Guys! So I had to put it in the day of fun with friends . The day is so far great and the fun of going around ton places that we have not been in years and years are just way to fun!

Abrams Planetarium

We got to the planetarium to late to sit in the dark and see the planets and stars. That's ok it is a hour long and we would not see all the other great things like the Bug house and of course we had to stop at PT Omallys for refreshments.
